SO, here you are. You’ve stumbled
across this page because you’re interested to find out why I've created this
blog. In reality, there are a whole host of reasons why I want to share my views so I'll try my best to get these points down into some
sort sensible order!
I’ve been studying Sociology for around give years, right from the get-go at GCSE I was hooked all the way through A Level and now with my degree at Canterbury Christ Church University, I continue to thrive on all things sociological! Sociology is a wonderful subject to study;
the discoveries we continue to make about the society we live in, which we all
take for granted, continue to astonish us 200 years after the founding fathers
began studying it - Karl Marx, Emile Durkheim and Max Weber – big beards, big ideas!
While sociology can be positively enlightening, it can also be a terrifying subject to study! The realisation that the society we live in is not all it’s cracked up to be can be disheartening. But, there are some fascinating observations to be made about some of the things take completely for granted.
Most of us take what we see at face value and fail to question it. Most of us don't really understand what goes on with the News, or what comes out of Westminster and Government. My aim here is to provide another insight into the goings on in our society - not just all that politics nonsense, though! I'm going to be giving my take on whatever catches my eye and looking at other things I find of interest.
In general terms, I'm going to be splitting my blog posts in a few categories. As it stands, I'm probably going to use the following markers: Political Discussion; Topical Discussion/Current Affairs; Random Opinion Pieces. No doubt these will change over time and I'll add more - you underestimated just how opinionated I am if you think I'm done in three categories! ;)
